RSI welcomes RailWorks CEO to board of directors; announces new director of communications

Washington, DC, July 24, 2019 – The Railway Supply Institute (RSI) announced today that RailWorks CEO Kevin Riddett has been named to the RSI board of directors. Riddett will fill the remainder of a three-year term set to expire at the end of 2019 and has been nominated for a full three-year term beginning in 2020, replacing Jim Hilderhoff of GE Transportation following the company’s merger with Wabtec Corporation earlier this year. Wabtec’s Freight and Industrial Group President Mike Fetsko will continue to serve on the RSI board on behalf of Wabtec and GE Transportation.

“Kevin brings decades of industry experience working with rail systems in North America and will be an asset to our board,” said RSI Board Chairman Robert Hulick. “We thank Jim for his service and look forward to his continued engagement with RSI moving forward.”

Riddett’s appointment comes as RSI also announced that John Hebert would be joining RSI as the new director of communications and member relations. He will lead overall communications for the organization and manage member recruitment and retention.

“John’s background in public affairs and advocacy will help expand our membership base, strengthen our advocacy and marketing outreach, and improve our organization’s ability to support the rail supply industry across the board,” said RSI President Mike O’Malley.

Hebert was previously a senior associate at Venn Strategies, a bipartisan government and public affairs firm based in Washington, D.C. He also has experience on Capitol Hill, having spent time in the offices of Representatives Cheri Bustos (D-IL) and Don Beyer (D-VA). He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Georgia.
