RSI Announces Departure of President Mike O’Malley
Washington, DC, July 2, 2020 – The Railway Supply Institute (RSI) announced today that President Mike O’Malley will leave the organization at the end of July. O’Malley served as RSI’s leader since early 2018 and is pursuing an opportunity with a corporation outside the Washington, D.C. area.
“Mike’s experience in both government and the rail industry has served RSI well and we have accomplished a great deal during his tenure. Under his leadership, RSI and our members have shaped critical legislative and regulatory policies affecting our industry and strengthened our voice in the nation’s capital,” said Jason Connell, Chairman of the RSI Board of Directors. “He also worked with the RSI team to enhance our trade show, educational and committee programs while assisting RSI members address challenging times in recent months due to COVID-19.”
Connell added, “RSI appreciates Mike’s service to the organization and the industry and wishes Mike the best in his new endeavors. Thanks to the continuing support of its dedicated members, the organization remains healthy and financially stable. RSI is well-positioned to navigate the current situation and emerge a stronger association.”
RSI’s board has assigned responsibility for daily oversight of the association to Senior Vice President Nicole Brewin who has been with RSI for nearly 20 years. The board is also evaluating a range of strategic and personnel opportunities presented by the vacancy in the President’s role. In the interim, the board’s Executive Committee will provide management oversight and support to Nicole and RSI’s capable staff.
