July 11, 2017 - Washington, DC. - The Railway Supply Institute strongly endorses the Administration’s plan to nominate Ronald L. Batory as Administrator of the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to direct the agency’s efforts to promulgate and enforce rail safety regulations and administer railroad assistance programs, among other duties.

"I’ve known Ron for years, and he is an excellent choice to lead the FRA", said Tom Simpson, Railway Supply Institute President. "The railway supply industry plays a vital role in the safe transportation of freight and passengers in the U.S., and we look forward to working with the FRA on sensible rail safety regulation and improving the safety and efficiency of the freight and passenger rail network. RSI and its members also will pursue efforts to ensure that the rail industry is eligible for any infrastructure investment proposal advanced by President Trump."
