Excitement Builds for Railway Interchange/2013
Exhibition Nears Sellout; Norfolk Southern CEO Moorman to Address AREMA
Indianapolis, Ind., August 6, 2013 – More than 640 exhibitors have signed up for the virtually sold-out booth space at Railway Interchange 2013 (www.railwayinterchange.org), the USA-based combined exhibition and technical conference taking place Sunday, September 29 through Wednesday, October 2 at the Indiana Convention Center. Upwards of 7,000 attendees are expected at Railway Interchange 2013, according to the host organizations; early registration rates end August 21, and conference and exhibition sponsorships are still available.
The Railway Interchange 2013 exhibition showcases the latest technology, services, and research by members of the Railway Supply Institute (RSI), the Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA), and Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc. (RSSI). Railway Interchange 2013 also features technical presentations and discussions by members of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and the Coordinated Mechanical Associations (CMA).
RSI President Tom Simpson said, “More than a month out from Railway Interchange 2013, the number of Convention Center exhibitors has already exceeded the 2011 total.” REMSA Executive Director David Soule added, “We’ve been gratified by the high demand for booth space this year.” RSSI Executive Director Secretary/Treasurer Michael P. Drudy said “We offered more exhibit space this year, anticipating that our members would snap it up – and they have.”
Opening ceremonies for the exhibition will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 29 in the Convention Center lobby outside the exhibition hall entrances. The exhibition closes on Tuesday, October 1.
The combined AREMA/CMA opening general session begins at 7:45 a.m. on Monday, September 30. Highlights of the AREMA conference program include the Chairman’s Luncheon on Tuesday, October 1, with featured speaker Charles W. “Wick” Moorman, chairman, president and CEO, Norfolk Southern Corporation. AREMA conference sessions begin Monday, September 30 and end Wednesday, October 2; CMA sessions end Tuesday, October 1.
