Railway Supply Institute Supports National Train Day, Urges Members to Host EventsWASHINGTON, D.C., April 24, 2014 – National Train Day is Saturday, May 10 this year. The Railway Supply Institute is urging its member companies to participate in National Train Day activities celebrating the importance of trains in American life. This year is the seventh annual observance of National Train Day, which was started to emphasize the contributions trains make to towns and communities.
“National Train Day is a chance for the railroad supply industry to demonstrate our support for not only Amtrak and passenger rail, but the overall positive impact railroads have on our nation’s economy,” said RSI President Tom Simpson. “We encourage our members to consider Train Day as an opportunity to host their local elected leadership and Members of Congress at their facilities.”
Simpson noted that the National Train Day website has a link where member companies can sign up to host their own event: http://www.nationaltrainday.com/s/#!/events/host_your_own_event. More information on National Train Day is available at the National Train Day website.
