Donate to Operation Lifesaver
Operation Lifesaver (OLI) leads a nationwide volunteer effort whose mission is to end collisions, deaths and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and on rail property. Their national office in Alexandria, Virginia supports state programs, develops videos, educational brochures, instructional information and other materials for audiences of all ages. Their state coordinators are located in all 50 states.
Co-founded in 1986 by the Railway Supply Institute, the Association of American Railroads and Amtrak, OLI, has been extremely successful in helping decrease the number of highway-rail crossing collisions, injuries and fatalities. However, they still have many challenges ahead, particularly in educating the public about the dangers of trespassing on rail rights-of-way. Nicole Brewin, RSI Vice President of Government Affairs represents RSI on the OLI Board.
RSI has been contributing to the organization for over twenty five years, with RSI members donating over $500,000 to the organization and volunteering for OLI. We would like to thank the following RSI members who have contributed to this worthy cause in 2014:
- American Railcar Industries
- Ebenezer Railcar Services
- Railhead Corporation
- Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association
- Williams-Hayward Protective Coatings, Inc.
If your company is interested in donating for 2015, there is no minimum or maximum amount, however contributions in the past have ranged from $500 to $5,000. Donations are tax deductible. RSI will combine all the donations received and deliver one check to OLI on behalf of all companies who contribute by December 2015.
Please make your check payable to Railway Supply Institute and mail to:
