Exhibits Sell Out, Program Strong for Railway Interchange 2015

Railway Interchange 2015Minneapolis, Minn., June 3, 2015 -- Indoor and outdoor exhibition space is sold out, 60 percent of available hotel rooms have been reserved, and additional speakers announced for Railway Interchange 2015, taking place October 4-7, the event’s host organizations announced today. The USA-based combined exhibition and technical conference will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center and at BNSF Railway’s nearby Northtown rail yard.

The Railway Interchange 2015 exhibition, which will be held October 4-6, showcases the latest technology, services, and research by members of the Railway Supply Institute (RSI), the Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA), and Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc. (RSSI). Railway Interchange 2015 also features technical presentations and discussions by members of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and the Coordinated Mechanical Associations (CMA). “A record 641 exhibitors will bring their displays to the Convention Center show floor this year, and an additional 35 exhibitors will showcase equipment and services at Northtown yard,” noted REMSA Executive Director of Trade Shows David Soule.

AREMA Interim Executive Director and CEO Larry L. Etherton, PE, stated , “With 60 percent of our associations’ combined hotel room space reserved four months in advance of the event, we are gearing up for the biggest Railway Interchange ever.”

Highlights of the conference program, which begins on Monday, October 5, include motivational speaker and retired US Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill as keynote speaker during the opening general session; Norfolk Southern Corporation President and CEO James A. Squires, who will address the AREMA Annual Chairs’ Luncheon on Tuesday, October 6; and railroad industry analyst Anthony B. Hatch, who will be the featured speaker at the closing general session on Wednesday, October 7. The CMA includes the Air Brake Association (ABA), the International Association of Railway Operating Officers (IAROO), the League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW), the Locomotive Maintenance Officers Association (LMOA) and Mechanical Association Railcar Technical Services (MARTS). LRIW will present its “Outstanding Woman of the Year” award during the Monday opening general session.

In addition to the AREMA and CMA meetings, the North American Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) will hold its annual general meeting in conjunction with Railway Interchange 2015 on Tuesday, October 6.
