USA Pavilion at Brazil's NT Expo a Success, More Exhibit Space Planned for 2014
Washington, DC, December 4, 2013 – The USA Pavilion at last month’s Business on Rails (NT Expo) trade show in São Paulo, Brazil, co-hosted by Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) and The Railway Supply Institute (RSI) was such a success that more exhibit space has been reserved for next year’s NT Expo, organizers said today. The NT Expo, held November 5-7, 2013, welcomed 8,300 attendees and had 210 total exhibitors, including the 10 companies in the USA Pavilion.
“Our meetings with the NT Expo organizers in São Paulo will improve communications for the next USA Pavilion in 2014. REMSA and RSI look forward to future shows in Brazil,” said REMSA Executive Director David Soule.
RSI President Tom Simpson said, “Our exhibitors said they were happy with the turnkey service our USA Pavilion provided, which let them focus on selling their products, not managing the exhibit space. With the knowledge gained this year, we will focus on enhancing the overall experience for exhibitors in the future.” Many expressed interest in exhibiting at NT Expo 2014, he added.
The RSI/REMSA exhibiting companies were: Arkansas Industrial Computing, Diversified Metal Fabricators, Inc. (DMF), Georgetown Rail Equipment Co., IONX LLC (Amsted Rail), Koppers, Inc., Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc., Motive Equipment Inc., NxGen Rail Services, Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (TTCI) and Whitmore Rail.
“The NT Expo provided IONX a great opportunity to showcase IONX’ latest railcar tracking and monitoring systems,” said John Felty, director of sales with IONX LLC. “We were able to catch up with a number of our existing customers and also broaden our contacts within the South American freight rail market.”
“NxGen Rail had a very positive experience at the NT Expo, which helped us reach potential customers and prospective business partners in this important international market,” said Patrick Cronin, Marketing Coordinator for North America with Sasser Family Holdings, Inc.
Services provided to USA Pavilion exhibitors included: booth design, food and beverage, internet services, on site translators, a report on the Brazil rail market, pre-show assistance with translations and visas, and marketing distributed in Brazil to announce the USA Pavilion.
“The quality of visitors was excellent, and the USA pavilion provided support and a comfortable place to engage our clients in business conversations,” said Ruben Peña, Government/Security and Latin America Projects manager with the Transportation Technology Center, Inc.
“Expanding our track maintenance machinery and services business in the global market is a key goal for us; the USA Pavilion allowed us to concentrate on making connections in Brazil,” said Erin L. Oldenburg, OEM Operations Administrative Assistant with Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc.
NT Expo 2014 will be held on November 11 – 13, 2014 in São Paulo, Brazil. Sales of exhibit space for the USA Pavilion will begin in early 2014. For further information on Business on Rails, visit http://ntexpo.com.br/the-exhibition/.
