Thomas D. Simpson

Mr. Simpson has been with RSI since 1988. Prior to joining RSI, Mr. Simpson worked at the Federal Railroad Administration's Office of Public Affairs in Washington, D.C. He has also served as the President of Operation Lifesaver's Board of Directors.
Areas of Responsibility: RSI Committees on Quality Assurance, Standard Coupler Manufacturers, State Taxation, Tank Cars, Equipment Leasing, Maintenance-of-Way, and Train Control Technologies. Oversees all RSI legislative activities, with particular emphasis on freight railroads, freight cars, hazardous materials, truck sizes and weights, tax and railroad safety legislation. Serves as Executive Director of the American Railway Car Institute.
Nicole B. Brewin

Ms. Brewin joined RSI in January 2001. Ms. Brewin previously worked for Congressman Peter Visclosky (D-IN) as his Transportation Legislative Assistant, handling such issues as rail safety, surface transportation program and High-Speed rail.
Areas of Responsibility: RSI Committees on Grade Crossing Safety, Passenger Transportation, International Trade and Public Relations/Marketing. Monitors legislative and regulatory matters pertaining to the railroads and rail supply industry with particular emphasis on Amtrak and SAFETEA legislation. In addition, Ms. Brewin coordinates the Annual Railroad Industry Dinner with the Association of American Railroads and the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association.
Amanda Trainor Patrick

Ms. Patrick joined RSI in July 2008. She previously worked for Cassidy and Associates, where she worked as an assistant for Former Congressman Jack Quinn (R-NY). Prior to that she worked as a teacher for the Close Up Foundation.
Areas of Responsibility: Ms. Patrick works in marketing and membership development. Her responsibiliites include website maintenance, assisting in trade show planning, and writing the newsletter.
