November 30, 2016 - Washington, D.C. In a letter to President-elect Donald Trump’s Transition Team, the Railway Supply Institute (RSI) outlined the importance of the rail supply industry to the U.S. economy and to North American freight and passenger railroads.
The letter encourages President-Elect Trump to work with Congress during his first 100 days to pursue an infrastructure investment package that includes rail.
“RSI looks forward to the opportunity to work with the President-elect and new Administration to develop policies that enhance and promote investment in rail infrastructure,” said Thomas Simpson, President of RSI. “RSI works on behalf of over 94,000 industry employees working in 45 states, and our members are predominately small, Main Street manufacturers. Increased rail infrastructure investment would be of enormous importance and consequence to our customers, our businesses, and to the communities we serve.”
The full letter can be found on RSI’s website.
