RSI Issues Call for Board Member Nominations

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 18, 2017 – The Railway Supply Institute (RSI) is soliciting nominations to serve on its board of directors for a term beginning in January, 2018. Board members, who serve a three-year term, are expected to attend each board meeting, participate on committees, and be available to members, other leaders, and staff. Nominees must be from a member company in good standing; individuals may self-nominate.

“RSI is looking for forward-thinking, dedicated board candidates to help advance the goals of our association and our industry,” said RSI President Tom Simpson. “Those interested should consider this an opportunity to be a leader who will represent their industry segment and the larger railway supply community. Serving as an RSI board member is both an honor and a reward, but it requires a clear commitment to the organization and its mission and goals.”

The nominating form explains the requirements and qualifications needed for prospective board members. The list of current board members is available at http://www.rsiweb.org/board.

Simpson noted that nominees are vetted by the nominating committee and presented to the board. The RSI board will present a slate of candidates to the full RSI membership for ratification at the RSI Annual Membership Meeting, which will be held on September 17, 2017 at the Indiana Convention Center in conjunction with Railway Interchange 2017 in Indianapolis, Ind. Nominations are due by May 31, 2017.
